When it comes to reviewing accommodations, we believe in providing a fair and comprehensive assessment. Our review system uses a scale of 1 to 10 for each category. To calculate the overall score, we take the sum of all the review scores and divide it by the total number of reviews received. In addition to the overall score, guests are also able to give separate subscores for important aspects such as the location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free WiFi. These subscores are independent of the overall score, allowing guests to provide detailed feedback.
Reviewing an Accommodation
If you have booked an accommodation through our platform and stayed there, or even if you reached the property but didn’t actually stay, you can share your experience by submitting a review. Should you need to make any changes to a review you have already submitted, simply contact our Customer Service team and they will assist you.
Detecting and Handling Fake Reviews
We have a dedicated team of professionals and automated systems in place to identify and address any fake reviews that are submitted to our platform. In the event that we come across any fake reviews, we promptly delete them and take appropriate action against those responsible. We strongly encourage our users to report any suspicious activity to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can thoroughly investigate the matter.
Our Review Guidelines
We strive to publish both positive and negative reviews as long as they meet our guidelines. However, there are certain types of content that we won’t display. These include politically sensitive comments, promotional content, references to illegal activities, personal or sensitive information, swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, violence, spam, fake content, animal cruelty, impersonation, and any violation of our review guidelines.
To ensure the relevance of reviews, we generally accept those submitted within 3 months of checking out. Additionally, reviews may no longer be displayed if they are older than 36 months or if the accommodation undergoes a change of ownership.
Accommodation Responses and Sorting
Accommodations have the option to respond to reviews, providing a platform for open communication between guests and property owners. When viewing multiple reviews, the most recent ones will appear at the top, taking into account various factors such as language and the presence of comments. To further enhance your user experience, you can sort and filter reviews based on the time of year, review score, and more.
In some cases, we may display external review scores from well-known travel websites, but we always make it clear when we do so.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
Our guidelines and standards are designed to maintain the quality of content on our platform, ensuring it remains relevant and suitable for all users. We encourage detailed and helpful contributions that assist others in making informed decisions. While we value freedom of expression, please refrain from including personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed, and any issues related to our services should be directed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
We kindly request that all contributions be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid the use of profanity or any attempts to circumvent our guidelines through creative spelling. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit content, violence, or the promotion of illegal activities will not be permitted.
We believe that genuine and unique content is the most valuable. Reviews are most helpful when they are original and unbiased. To maintain the integrity of our platform, property partners are not allowed to post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Any attempts to manipulate the rating of a competitor through negative reviews will not be tolerated.
Respecting the privacy of others is of utmost importance to us. We take great care to ensure that email addresses, telephone numbers, website links, social media accounts, and similar details are appropriately protected.
