Shangrila Sri Lanka: Unveiling the Essence of Reviews

Evaluating Accommodations: A Comprehensive Approach

When it comes to reviewing accommodations, we at DHPL Travels believe in a holistic assessment. The overall score you see is a culmination of individual review scores. We meticulously calculate this score by aggregating all the review scores we’ve received and dividing it by the total number of reviews. Additionally, guests have the opportunity to provide separate “subscores” in vital areas such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wi-Fi. It’s important to note that guests independently submit their subscores, which are not directly linked to their overall scores.

Reviewing with Authenticity

Whether you stayed at the property or merely visited, you can review an accommodation booked through our Platform. We appreciate and value your input. In case you need to edit a review you’ve already submitted, simply reach out to our Customer Service team, and they will gladly assist you.

Battling Fake Reviews: Our Vigilance

Fake reviews are a serious matter, and we have dedicated personnel and automated systems solely focused on identifying and eliminating them from our Platform. Rest assured, if we detect any fraudulent reviews, we promptly delete them and take appropriate action against those responsible. We also encourage our users to report any suspicious activity to our Customer Service team, enabling our Fraud department to thoroughly investigate and maintain the integrity of our reviews.

Our Publication Policy: Transparency and Relevance

In an ideal world, we would publish every review we receive, regardless of its positivity or negativity. However, to ensure the utmost credibility and relevance for our users, we refrain from displaying reviews that include or refer to politically sensitive comments, promotional content, illegal activities, personal or sensitive information (such as emails, phone numbers, or credit card details), swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, violence, spam, fake content, animal cruelty, impersonation, or any violation of our review guidelines.

Timeliness and Ownership: Keeping Reviews Current

To maintain the freshness and relevance of reviews, we only accept submissions made within three months of checking out. Furthermore, we may cease displaying reviews that exceed 36 months in age or in the case of a change in ownership of the accommodation.

Engaging in Dialogue: Accommodation Responses

In our commitment to fostering open communication, accommodations have the option to respond to reviews. This allows for a constructive dialogue between guests and property owners, enhancing the overall user experience.

Unraveling the Review Display

When multiple reviews exist, we prioritize the most recent ones. However, there are several factors that come into play, such as the language of the review and whether it includes comments in addition to a rating. Should you wish to sort or filter the reviews based on the time of year or review score, we provide these options for your convenience.

Honoring Reliable Sources: External Review Scores

At times, we incorporate external review scores from other reputable travel websites. We always make it clear when we present such information, ensuring that you have a comprehensive view of the accommodations you are considering.

Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Our guidelines and standards serve to maintain the relevance and family-friendliness of the content on DHPL Travels. These guidelines apply to all comments, regardless of their sentiment.

  • Contributions should be travel-related, offering detailed insights that assist fellow travelers in making informed decisions. We kindly request that you refrain from including personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Furthermore, promotional content will be removed, and any concerns related to DHPL Travels’ services should be directed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
  • Contributions should be suitable for a global audience. Please avoid profanity or creative attempts to replace profanity. Comments and media that contain hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit language, violence, or promote illegal activities are strictly prohibited.
  • Authenticity is key. We highly value original and unbiased reviews, as they provide the most valuable insights. Your contribution should reflect your personal experience and remain completely genuine. It is important to note that DHPL Travels’ property partners are not permitted to post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Any attempt to manipulate ratings through negative reviews targeting competitors will not be tolerated.
  • Respect for privacy is paramount. DHPL Travels goes to great lengths to safeguard the privacy of all individuals involved. We make every effort to conceal personal details such as email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar information.
  • The opinions expressed in reviews belong solely to DHPL Travels’ customers and properties and do not reflect the views of DHPL Travels. DHPL Travels accepts no responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Please note that DHPL Travels acts as a distributor of these comments and responses (without any obligation to verify), rather than a publisher.
  • By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of submission and additional criteria that display the most relevant reviews. These criteria include the review’s language, whether it includes text, and whether it is an anonymous review. You may also find additional sorting options available, such as sorting by traveler type or review score.
