Teabush hotel

The present hotel was very much a part of the famous British owned Haddon Hill Estate. It still retains the distinctive hall-mark of the famous Tudor type architecture, unique to the swellings of the wealthy land owners of the Victorian era rural England.. Ideally located on the Single Tree Hill, the bungalow housing the hotel was built in the early 1800’s by the British. “Shelborne” as it was then known, was the residence of Gilbert Bersham-Traill, the superintendent of Haddon Hill Estate. Tea Bush Hotel offers the best of Nuwara-eliya… simple yet elegant, quiet ‘n peaceful. The hotel offers a touch of class and a hint of the bygone days, and an exquisite cuisine amidst the cool mountains. The stairway to the hotel is an artistic masterpiece by itself.
